Statement of Faith
Straight Jesus, No Chaser!
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty!
I. The Bible:
We believe the Bible, the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament, is the fully inspired and inerrant Word of God. It is the product of holy men who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. We accept the New Covenant as recorded in the New Testament, as our infallible guide and supreme authority in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. (Mark 13:31, John 8:31-32, 2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Corinthians 2:7-14, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
II. The Trinity:
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; equally divinely perfect, each executing distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. (Genesis 1:1, 26, Matthew 28:19, John 4:24, Ephesians 4:5-6)
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that God mercifully concerns himself with the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayers; that He saves from sin and death those who come to Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We believe that He orders and disposes of all things according to His own purpose and grace. (1 Timothy 1:1-2, 2:5-6, 1 Peter 1:3)
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe that He was born of a virgin, that He lived a sinless life while He performed miracles, signs and wonders. We believe in His substitutionary, propitiatory death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal, visible return to earth. We believe that through His death and resurrection, Jesus Christ assures every believer liberty from the punishment, the penalty, and the power of sin, and that He declares all believers justified (righteous) giving each eternal life and spiritual adoption into the family of God. (Matthew 1:18-25, John 1:1, Acts 1:11, Roman 5:6-8, 6:9-10, 6:22-23, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:21-23)
We believe in Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father to convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the supernatural sovereign agent of regeneration. It is His work to indwell, instruct, empower for service, sanctify, and seal until the day of redemption all who believe on Jesus. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide; He is a divine person, eternal, and possessing all the attributes of personality and attributes of deity. He is coequal and coeternal with the Father and the Son. (John 14:16-17, 16:7-15, Romans 8:9, 14-17, 1 Corinthians 3:16, Galatians 5: 22-25, Ephesians 1:13)

III. Man, His Fall and Redemption:
We believe that man is a created being made in the likeness and image of God. We believe that all of humanity descended from Adam, and that through his transgression and fall, sin entered into the world. We believe that all of humanity is thus sinful by nature, by choice, and by divine declaration, spiritually dead in their trespasses and sins. However, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to redeem and restore man back to God by the shedding of His blood and giving His life. We believe that those who repent, forsake sin, and trust Jesus Christ as Savior, are benefactors of God’s sovereign grace, are regenerated by the Holy Spirit, become new creatures, are delivered from condemnation, and are recipients of eternal life. We believe salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:7, 2:16-17; John 3:36; Romans 3:9-12, 3:22-25, 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3, 2:8)
IV. The New Birth, Salvation, and Eternal Life:
We believe that man’s first step toward salvation is Godly sorrow that worketh repentance. We further believe that the new birth is necessary for all men and only after it is fulfilled is eternal life produced. (2 Corinthians 7:10; 1 John 5:12; John 3: 3-7, 3:16)
V. Water Baptism:
We believe in baptism in water by immersion as commanded and demonstrated by our Lord, Jesus Christ. We believe water baptism is for believers only and is one of the two ordinances of the Christian Church. We believe water baptism is symbolic identification with Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection. All water baptisms performed under the Liberty Christian Center’s direction will be under the following: “Upon the confession of your faith, we now baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost in Jesus Name, Amen.” (Matthew 3:13-17; 28:19, Romans 6:3-5)
VI. Baptism in the Holy Spirit:
We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to those who have received Him as Lord and Savior (The Born Again Believer). We believe there are diversities of gifts of the Spirit but the same Spirit. The Holy Spirit divides them unto man as He wills. We believe that the gift of speaking in other tongues as He, the Holy Spirit, gives utterance is one of many evidences (manifestation) of His indwelling within the Believer. (Matthew 3:11, John 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, 2:38-39, Acts 19:2-6 Act 2:4)
VII. Justification:
VII. Justification:
We believe that justification is the act of God by which He declares man righteous. The righteousness is apart from any virtue or work of man and involves the imputation of our sins to Christ and the imputation of Christ's righteousness to us. By this means, God is able to "be just, and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:26, 8:33; 3:20, 4:6, Ephesians 2:8-9, Colossians 2:14, 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Corinthians 1:30 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 3:26)
VIII. Sanctification:
We believe that every genuine believer experiences justification before God. Therefore, having been justified, we believe that in the daily life of the believer, he/she is being progressively conformed to the likeness of Christ as a result of the work of grace which commences at the time of regeneration and continues until consummation of salvation. (Hebrews 12:14, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 2 Peter 3:18, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Philippians 3:13-14,
1 Corinthians 1:30)
IX. Divine Healing:
We believe in the physical healing of the human body, which is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith and by the laying on of hands. Healing is provisional by Christ's atoning sacrifice and is the privilege of every member of the Church today. (Mark 16:16, James 5:14-20, 1 Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:17, Isaiah 53:45)

X. Resurrection of the Just and the Return of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ:
We believe that the same Jesus who ascended will in like manner come again. His coming is forthcoming and when He comes, those who are dead in Christ shall rise first. They which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Subsequent to the tribulation, He will return to earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and He shall reign for a hundred years. (Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 20:6)
XI. Hell and Eternal Retribution:
We believe that those who physically die in their sins without Christ are hopelessly and eternally lost and will be cast into the lake of fire, having no further opportunity to hear the Gospel or to repent for sin. The lake of fire is a real place and just as eternal and everlasting applies and denotes an never ending duration of joy and ecstasy for Saints in the presence of God, likewise is the duration of the punishment of the damned. (Hebrews 10:27, Revelation 19:20, Hebrews 6:1-2)
XII. Communion:
We believe that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that this ordinance should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. The bread symbolizes the Lord’s broken body. The cup represents the new
covenant
of His blood which avails to the Believer forgiveness and relationship with God. We do not believe that this ordinance nor the ordinance of water baptism holds any salvific value; that is, they do not convey saving grace upon the recipient but are rather acts of obedience subsequent to the New Birth. (1 Corinthians 11:23-31, Romans 6:3-5)
XIII. Religious Liberty:
We believe it is the privilege of all true believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word; however, we also believe that the use of Christian liberty to excuse sinful living or carnality is strictly forbidden by the same Word of God. (Romans 6:1-2, 6:15-22; Galatians 5:13, 25-26, Titus 2:11-14)
